Eastern Region Meeting
June 29-30, 2012
The Eastern Region Meeting will be hosted by the Greensburg Council at the Bishop Connare Center in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. This is an excellent opportunity to spend time with fellow Vincentians, grow your spirituality, and sharpen your skills.
Plenary Sessions include:
- Rev. Bernie Tracey, CM
- Sheila Gilbert, National Council President
- Roger Playwin, National Council Executive Director
Small group workshop topics include Youth, Stores, Formation, Development and Marketing.

Driving to work, picking up our kids, visiting the doctor.
Simple tasks most of us do day in and day out -- except for people in need. But now, you can donate your used vehicle to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul's National Vehicle Donation Program and help change that.
The SVDP National Vehicle Donation Program offers some distinct advantages:
- Used vehicles may be turned into money to provide critical items such as food, shelter, housing, care for the elderly, or medicine.
- Your contribution is tied directly to your location. That means your donation will help someone in your immediate community.
- If necessary, the donation can provide much-needed transportation, which in turn may enable someone the dignity of keeping a job to support a family.
What is the Society of St. Vincent de Paul?
We are a group of people, organized locally yet spanning the globe who help care for people in need. (click here for the full mission statement)
We respond to a feeling within that prompts us to reach out to others. Most people experience this feeling; it’s sometimes called the “nudge”. It happens as you walk past the homeless person who asks you for money, (I wonder if I should help?), the collection outside the supermarket where you question whether you should give, the request for volunteers at the soup kitchen.
